Charlotte "Peggy" Amelia Jackson

Charlotte “Peggy” Amelia Jackson, age 95, resident of Jamestown, ND, formerly Sutton, ND passed away Tuesday February 19, 2019 at the Eventide Senior Living Center in Jamestown, ND.

Peggy was born March 21, 1923 in London, England to Benjamin and Sarah (Haddon) Morris.  It was typical during those years to enter the work force at an early age.  Upon completion of school she went to work at a factory making goose down comforters & pillows, and later worked at the women’s tailor shop.  Peggy served in the Women’s Land Army during WWII and received a medal for her service.  On July 2, 1945 she married Ellis Jackson in London, England.  In 1946 Peggy came to the United States and lived on the family farm near Sutton and later moved into Sutton, ND.  Ellis passed away in 1994.  They were married for 49 years.  Peggy worked as a cook at the Sutton School and was the Postmaster in Sutton until her retirement in 1995.  Peggy loved to knit & sew, as well as being a crossword puzzle expert.  She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. George Catholic Church.

Peggy is survived by 1 son Neil Jackson of Glenfield, ND, 2 daughters Shirley Jackson of Courtenay, ND and Linda (Bob) Rott of Nortonville, ND, 1 sister Dolly of London, England, 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Alan, daughter-in-law Dianna and 9 brothers & sisters.

The Funeral Mass for Charlotte will be Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. George Catholic Church, Cooperstown, ND.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church.  Spring interment will be at the St. George Cemetery, Cooperstown, ND.
