David W. Dion

David W. Dion, age 70, resident of McVille, ND, formerly of Lakota, ND, passed away Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Nelson County Health System Care Center in McVille.

David Wayne Dion was born February 22, 1949 in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Lloyd and Inger (Evenson) Dion.  He was raised in the area and attended school in Lakota.  He was baptized and confirmed at Lakota Lutheran Church, where he was also a current member.  David was a farm laborer for area farmers and drove bus for the Lakota School District for many years.  David was very proud when he received an award for his outstanding support of the Lakota Raiders.  He enjoyed attending all Lakota school sporting events (Go Raiders) and driving around.  He liked Case IH machinery and Ford vehicles.

David is survived by his cousin, Evonne (Robert) Frederick; cousins, Tricia (Justin) Nerison, Kim (Perry) Palm, Troy (Rhonda) Frederick, Travis (Laura) Frederick, Michelle Madsen, Mark Matejcek, Nicole (Haagen) Diener, and Trent (Sarah) Matejcek; an aunt, Dorothy Evenson; his Godmother, Gunhild Schmidt; and several other cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Larry.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota, ND, on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
