Douglas Alfred Anderson, Age 73, resident of Glenfield, ND passed away Thursday, Feb 14, 2019 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Doug was born September 30, 1945 in Jamestown, ND the son of Alfred and Joan (Morris) Anderson. He grew up and attended country school near Glenfield/Sutton, before graduating from Cooperstown High School. Doug farmed in the 60’s thru 1980. He married Bernice Wunder in 1968. Doug attended Rhema Bible college in Broken Arrow, OK for two years, graduating in 1982. Bernice passed away September 5, 1982.
He married Charlotte Abrahamson October 20, 1984. Doug received a business degree from Valley City State in 1987. He then attended Century College, White Bear Lake, MN where he obtained a degree as a prosthetist. The couple made their home in West Fargo, ND and started Anderson Prosthetics which they owned and operated until May 2005.
Doug loved the land and so enjoyed farming. Even when away from the farm he always longed to be near it. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking and stargazing, showing and teaching his children all of the constellations. He was especially proud of his twin granddaughters and enjoyed being with them.
Doug will be missed and remembered by his wife Charlotte Anderson of Glenfield, ND, 3 children Michael (Delight) Anderson and twin granddaughters Hadley and Cherish of Broken Arrow, OK, daughters Leah Anderson of Kansas City, KS and Ellen Anderson of Las Vegas NV., his mother Joan (Morris) Anderson of Cooperstown, ND, his sister Judy (David) Zimprich of Cooperstown, ND, his brother Wayne (Diane) Anderson of Cooperstown, ND, sister-in-law Linda Anderson of Fargo, ND along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doug was preceded in death by his father Alfred, wife Bernice, and brother Richard Anderson.
Funeral services for Doug will be held Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Prairie Faith in Glenfield, ND. A time of gathering will be held one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND. Arrangements with the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel.
