Loraine A Larson

Loraine A. Larson, 86, resident of McVille, ND passed away Sunday March 3, 2019 at Sanford Palliative Care Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Loraine A. Larson was born March 19, 1932 at McHenry, ND, the daughter of Ludvik and Selma (Skjoiten) Gronaas.  She graduated from Pekin High School in 1950. She married Floyd K. Larson on October 29, 1950 at Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin, ND.  The couple farmed in Nesheim Township until retiring and moving to McVille in 2002.  Floyd passed away October 17, 2006.

Loraine moved with her parents to Bergen Township south of Pekin, ND in 1941.  She was a member of Sheyenne Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid where she held offices, taught Sunday School and was Superintendent. Loraine enjoyed cooking and baking along with Norwegian baking, and generously shared with others.  She worked at Grand Forks Federal and Metropolitan Federal in McVille until they closed.   Loraine enjoyed playing Rummikub with her friends each week. 

Loraine loved to call her family and friends to keep in touch.  The arrival of Kassie continued our legacy of only daughters and turned into 4 generations of only children, only daughters.  Loraine loved her family so much and what a blessing Kassie was to our family.

Loraine is survived by her daughter Gail (Dale) Flohaug of Grand Forks, ND, granddaughter Cheryl (Tom) Parslow of Rolla, ND, and great granddaughter Kassandra Ann Parslow (Kassie), Special Friend Richard Bjerke of Hatton, ND, and cousins.

Loraine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Floyd.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sheyenne Cemetery.

Funeral services for Loraine will be Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin, ND.  Visitation will be held for an hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in spring at the Sheyenne Church Cemetery.
