Luanne (Loreth) Anderson, age 76, resident of Lakota, ND, died Friday, August 3, 2018 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND, surrounded by her loving family.
Luanne Louise Loreth was born November 16, 1941 at Langdon, ND, the daughter of John and Gladys (Peterson) Loreth. She was raised in the Mt. Carmel/Langdon area, graduating from the St. Alphonsus school in 1960. Luanne married Rodger Dean Anderson on September 30, 1961. They lived on Rodger’s home farm until 1962, when they moved to Lakota and raised their 2 children. Luanne was a homemaker until her children were older, then she worked part-time for various businesses in Lakota. She was a member of the Lakota Lutheran Church and WELCA. Luanne & Rodger enjoyed fishing and camping with their children, family, and friends. They were campground hosts at Lake Ashtabula near Valley City, ND, for 5 years. They also enjoyed 9 winters in Apache Junction, AZ. Rodger died August 6, 2015. Luanne’s passion was to tend her garden, cooking, and baking. She thoroughly enjoyed card games with her friends and volunteering at the Good Samaritan Center.
Luanne will be deeply missed by her daughter, Deanna Rude (special friend, Keith Kary) of Alexandria, MN; her son, Rick (Diana) Anderson of Walhalla, ND; grandson, Derrick Neuenfeld (special friend, Angel Brooks) of Alexandria, MN; 3 brothers-in-law, Ron (Mary) of Dickinson, ND, Virgil of Lakota, and LaMar of Edmore, ND; 1 sister-in-law, Esther (Darrel) Leith of Lakota; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Loreth; mother, Gladys Seagren; step-father, Lawrence Seagren; husband, Rodger; 2 brothers, Neil Loreth and Francis (Mary) Loreth; and 2 nephews, John and Troy Loreth.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Lakota Lutheran Church on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Lori Pankratz, the organist will be Karen Fowler. Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery. The casketbearers will be Troy Anderson, Steven Anderson, Joel Anderson, Edward Waslaski, Dan Halberg, Derrick Neuenfeld, and Todd Anderson. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Wednesday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
