Myrtle L. Eberhardt

Myrtle Luella Eberhardt, age 89, resident of Aneta, ND passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at the Nelson County Health System – Care Center in McVille, ND.

Myrtle was born April 1, 1930 in Sutton, ND the daughter of Leonard and Celia (Legried) Pederson.  She grew up and was educated in the Sutton area, graduating Hannaford High School.  Myrtle taught school after receiving her teaching certificate from Valley City.  She later became a dental assistant.    She married Don Eberhardt on June 24, 1951.  The couple made their home in the Aneta area.  Myrtle worked for a number of years as a nurse’s aid.  She was active in the Homemakers club, Women’s Auxiliary, Griggs County Museum, a tax assessor for Lenora Township and taught Sunday school at Ottawa Church.  Some of her favorite hobbies where baking wedding cakes which she delivered all over North Dakota, quilting, painting, gardening and helping out on the farm.

Surviving members of the family include her husband Don, son Merlin (Sheri) and daughter Bonnie (Mike) Johnson, 9 grandchildren; DonAl, Ryan (Jess), Shanna (Jeff), David (Jenny), Melony (Eric), John (Tanya), Angela, Michael Jr. and Holly, along with 18 great grandchildren.  4 sisters Doris (David) Dahl, Sylvia Beattie, Jeannette Pfeifer and Joyce (Clayton) Nelson, brother Edward (Sharon) Pederson and sister-in-law Liz Pederson.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, sister Clarice and brothers Herman and Howard.

Funeral services for Myrtle will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ottawa Lutheran Church, rural Aneta, ND.  Visitation will be Friday, August 30, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel and continue one hour prior to services in the church.  Interment will be in the Ottawa Cemetery.
