Dale A. Flaagan

Dale Ardell Flaagan, age 88, of Tolna, ND died Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Knife River Care Center in Beulah, ND.

Dale was born April 7, 1932 in McVille, ND the son of Gerhard and Lillian (Twete) Flaagan.  He grew up on the family farm in Tolna and graduated from Tolna High School in 1950.  Dale married Carol Mae Johnson on April 7, 1954 at American Lutheran Church in Tolna, ND.  The couple lived and worked on the family farm southwest of Tolna where they raised their family.

Dale was an avid local high school sports fan.  He loved being a part of all his kids and grandkids sports and activities.  He was a life-long member of the Sigdal Lutheran Church, a 4-H leader for many years, served on the school board and local fire department.  Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing and ski trips to the mountains.  Carol died June 24, 2016.  Dale continued to live in Tolna until February 2019 when he moved to Beulah.

Dale is survived by his 4 sons: Kevin of Beulah, ND, Brian of Centennial, CO, Jaime (Therese) of Eagle, CO, and Shane (Shelly) of Tolna, ND; 8 grandchildren:  Reid Flaagan, Drew (Danielle) Flaagan, Stephanie (Steve) Schrader, Dalton Flaagan, Kaylee Flaagan, Garret Flaagan, Dillon Flaagan, and Jayden Flaagan; great grandchildren: Lilly and Wyat; sister Joanne Barnett in CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol Mae, daughter-in-law Bonnie Flaagan, infant son Gary, sisters Donna Baldwin and Doreen Maes, and brother Jarvis Flaagan.
