George C. Mayer

George C. Mayer, age 88, resident of Whitman, ND, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021, at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City, ND.

George was born February 22, 1933 to Stanley and Alice Mayer.  He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955.  He loved to tinker with anything, nothing was ever broken to him.  Keeping the lawn mowed like a golf course was what he enjoyed the most.

George is survived by his son, Kurt (Marie) Mayer; daughters, Stacy (Butch) Stark and Cheryl Mayer; his partner, Ethel Beaver of Larimore, ND; brother, Jim Mayer of White Bear Lake MN; sisters, Stella Shirek of Lakota ND and Judy (Gust) Larson of Wasilla AK; grandchildren, Amber (Adam) Angove, Dominique Mayer, Sascha Mayer, Mason and McGwire Bukovich, all of Hibbing, MN, Joslyn Mayer of Buhl, Cyle Karakash of Hibbing; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Cole, Chloe, Ashton, Tyler, and Bryce.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Alice; his son, Cory; sisters, Blanche, Roseann, Marcella, and Alice; brothers, Otto, Gus, and Stanley.

A memorial service will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND, on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.
