Kent Ensrud, 67, of rural Pekin, ND passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at his home due to complications of Parkinson’s disease and Lewy Body Dementia.
Kent was born on August 18, 1952 and raised on the family farm by his parents Myron and June (Ronningen) Ensrud. After graduating from Tolna High School in 1970, and from the University of North Dakota in 1974, Kent joined his father in operating the family farm. Kent married the love of his life, Mary Ann Wilson, on March 17, 1979. Together, they raised three children: Jason, Jeremy, and Meghan with compassionate understanding, and unwavering love and support. Following his career in farming, Kent worked for the Pekin Elevator, Nelson County Health Systems, and Lake Region Grain.
To know and love Kent was a joy. He was a proud Dad and Grandpa. Kent possessed an abundance of love which he showered unselfishly on his family. He enjoyed traveling, watching sports, and hunting. He could always be found driving “around the block” to check out the crops and wildlife.
Kent will be forever missed. He is survived by his soulmate, Mary Ann; three children, Jason (Kylie) Ensrud of Lincoln, NE, Jeremy (Pebbles) Ensrud of Minot, ND, and Meghan Ensrud of Arvilla, ND; four grandchildren, Grace, Kellen, Magnus, and Marit; brother, Steven Ensrud of McVille, ND; sister, Linda (Jeff) Luehring of Tolna, ND; mother-in-law, Anita Wilson of McVille, ND; brother-in-law, Bill (Jill) Wilson of Kent, WA; and a niece and nephews.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents.
The Memorial Service will be Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin, ND. Visitation will be held in the church one hour before the service. Interment will be at a later date in the Sheyenne Church Cemetery.
