Ronald A. Hendrickson

Ronald A. Hendrickson, age 83, resident of rural Michigan, ND, died Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Lakota, ND.

Ronald Archie Hendrickson was born November 20, 1936 in McVille, ND, the son of Archie and Agnes (Orseth) Hendrickson.  He was raised on his parent’s farm and attended township school near Michigan.  Ron also attended a trade school and later earned his GED.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on February 6, 1957 and served on the USS Yellowstone as well as the submarine USS Trigger.  He was honorably discharged on February 3, 1961.  Ron married Joyce Vesey on July 6, 1958 at the McVille Lutheran Church.  Ron worked at an implement dealership in New Salem, ND, and in the fall of 1961 worked road construction for Shimcat Construction.  After a short time, Ron and his family returned to farm with his father, and continued on his own for many years.  While farming, Ron also operated a maintainer at the missile site in Cavalier, ND.  He then worked as a diesel mechanic at Bob Lamb Case in Michigan for many years.  Ron and Joyce then operated a residential cleaning service in Grand Forks.  He loved fishing, hunting, tinkering, fixing, and inventing things in his shop.

Ron will be deeply missed by his wife, Joyce Hendrickson; 4 children, Loralee (Walter) Huff of Lee’s Summit, MO, Tammy (Loren) Dahlen of Grand Forks, ND, Shane (Mel) Hendrickson of Spring Creek, NV, and Tom (Becky) Hendrickson of Lakota; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Lynn Foley, Ardis Rolland, Renae Huseby, and Elaine Loe; and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leslie; and infant brother, Louis.

The Memorial Service for Ron will be held at the Michigan Lutheran Church, Michigan, ND, on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the Michigan Cemetery.
